Dark Hip Hop from FixCity Canada
In 1972, HiddenFortress was born in a mountain and it was here, deep underground in the smokey depths, that the fabelled beast "Gygax", an undead minotaur, raised the two monsters and claimed them as his own. Amongst the cobwebs and flames their spine tingling sounds and bone chilling delivery were crafted and honed.
Now, after 36 years of blood, trauma and horror, Gygax has released his evil children to walk among us and in doing so has unleashed a new dark sound in hip hop not yet heard. "NoFutureFace" and dj UsdNeedls bring their own twist to Canadian hip-hop music and in their wake countless victims will be shown the power that dwells within the HiddenFortress. We have been summoned, and so have you. Something wicked this way comes......

FixCity

canadian Music Artists

Located in Vancouver Canada, HiddenFortress is comprised of DJ/Producer UsdNeedles and lyricist "nofutureface". Back together after a 4 year interlude while UsdNeedles rocked heads in Japan, their new self titled EP, an indie release, is a musical response to living in a city where drugs and death go hand in hand and corruption and filth are the food of the elites. This is the whispers in the halls, the shivers up your spine; this is FixCities forgotten tales... How about some Horrorcore! Canadian horrorcore at that. Vancouver's Hidden Fortress use a genre label I haven't seen anyone use in quite some time to describe their dark brand of hip hop. The Fortress is comprised of the delightfully named duo DJ/Producer UsdNeedles and lyricist "nofutureface", and so their new EP is likely devoid of happy raps. But it grabs ahold pretty tight, and brings Toronto's Red Ants to mind as a recent comparison. Perhaps not for everyone, but if you like your hip hop to have a dark, electro bent, this might be for you.
